Vancouver Coastal Health - Energy Conservation Project
E-Factor Engineering acting as the project manager and engineering consultant for the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority in 2008 for the development and implementation of over $2,000,0000 in energy conservation projects across the Lower Mainland and South Coast to Powell River. The projects ranged from energy-efficient lighting upgrades to new, high-efficiency boiler installations and burner upgrades. Over 25 separate projects were managed that have been saving almost 5 GWh (gigawatt hours) of electricity and 25,000 GJ of natural gas across the system.
BC Hydro has also contributing to the projects with cost incentives based on the electrical savings. The projects were substantially completed by March 31, 2008.
Other engineering and design assistance on these projects was provided by Prism Engineering, Quantum Lighting Ltd., Pacific Boiler Ltd., Inproheat Industries, as well as numerous BC contractors and equipment suppliers.
